Physical Gaming Controller Released For iPhone And iPod Touch

The iControlPad has been released for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch.

One of the main reasons why the iPhone and iPod touch are so popular is the selection of games available for the platform. While these games can be really fun, for hard-core gamers the problem remains that touch controls are not the most intuitive way to control a game.

This is where the iControlPad comes in. The controller took over three years to make, and now it is available for users to purchase.

Many will think this is great choice, and buy it right away. However, this product isn’t flawless. Due to the countless restrictions Apple places on third-party applications, the joystick doesn’t work properly on stock iOS devices. This is because the Keyboard emulation protocol in iOS does not allow all controls to work under iOS. For instance, the analog sticks won’t work because iOS doesn’t allow peripherals to constantly send data streams to the device. For this reason, users will have to be jailbroken to take full advantage of this joy pad. You can watch the video embedded below to see iControlPad in action.
