sn0wbreeze v1.5 Jailbreak tool for iPhone OS 3.1.3 available – adds support for iPod Touch 2G

image Yet another update by ih8sn0w. They’ve added support in sn0wbreeze 1.5 for iPod Touch 2G. Sadly blacksn0w hasn’t been fixed yet in this release either. We’ve been covering sn0wbreeze updates closely so if you’re eager to jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch, head on over to our easy to follow guide here. Just follow the instructions but use sn0wbreeze v1.5 instead of 1.3 in the old guide.

So now, sn0wbreeze 1.5 has support for the following devices:

  • iPhone 2G
  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPod Touch 1G
  • iPod Touch 2G

For those of you who are facing tethered jailbreak annoyances, there’s not much hope that it would be fixed for iPhone OS 3.1.3. According to the Dev-Team, who just released Pwnagetool 3.1.5 for Mac:

We aren’t revealing any new exploits to Apple with this jailbreak. Everything here has been used before, it’s just a straightforward port of Pwnage2 and 24Kpwn to the new firmware.  It’s possible the new firmware was released largely to flush out new exploits before the next big release.  We won’t be biting.

In simple terms this means that if the Dev-Team and Geohot know of any exploits in the iPhone OS, they wont be utilizing them yet. While this is sad news for all tethered jailbreakers, let’s just hope that iPhone OS 4.0 would be easily jailbroken when released.

If you don’t want to use sn0wbreeze, you can try redsn0w 0.9.4 to jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch 3.1.3. Check out the guide here.
