WhatsApp has started rolling out the redesigned Settings tab to some iPhone beta testers. The You tab now keeps the options people open most often on the main screen, and the rest of the settings sit in a separate menu behind a gear icon.
WABetaInfo found the new layout live in WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.40.10.76 on TestFlight. A few days ago, the same layout showed up as an unreleased design in beta 26.40.10.21, which we covered in our earlier report on the Settings tab redesign. This week’s update moves it from a hidden test to something testers can see.
The new design replaces the old single-page list with two screens. Testers who got the update see a profile-style You tab first, with the full list of settings one tap away.
The You Tab Now Opens With Your Profile and Six Shortcuts
Your profile photo sits at the top of the tab, along with a status message you can set for anyone who views your profile. Two buttons under your name let you edit your profile or share it with other people.
Below that, WhatsApp keeps six shortcuts in view.
- Subscriptions
- Lists
- Broadcast messages
- Events
- Starred
- Linked devices
A small note at the bottom of the screen tells you more settings are available through the gear icon at the top of the tab.

The Gear Icon Opens a Searchable Menu With Everything Else
Tapping the gear icon in the navigation bar opens the secondary settings page. A search bar sits at the top, so you can jump to a setting without scrolling.
The menu holds the sections that used to fill the main list.
- Account
- Privacy
- Chats
- Appearance
- Notifications
- Agents
- Storage and data
- Parental controls
Help, Send feedback, and Invite a friend sit below those sections. Accounts Center is at the bottom, and it lets you connect your WhatsApp account to your other Meta accounts.
WhatsApp Has Been Simplifying the iPhone App One Screen at a Time
The Settings list kept growing with every new feature, which made simple jobs like finding Starred messages or Linked devices a scroll. Recent additions such as parental controls for teens each added another row. The new layout splits the options people use often from the ones they rarely open.
Settings is not the first screen to get this treatment. Earlier this year, WhatsApp gave the group chat info screen a tab system, and more recently it added a chat navigation button with quick shortcuts. The Settings tab follows the same approach in one of the most visited parts of the app.
Only Some Beta Testers Have the New Settings Tab So Far
WhatsApp is releasing the redesign gradually, so not every tester on beta 26.40.10.76 will see it right away. Anyone who still sees the old Settings page should get the new one over the coming weeks.
