Today, Apple has unveiled the next-generation 2023 Mac mini with powerful M2 and M2 Pro chips. The new supercharged model is more affordable starting at $599.
The tech giant also announced new 2023 MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips with even faster CPU and GPU performance and improved power efficiency.
Here is everything you need to know about the 2023 Mac mini with M2 and M2 Pro

- 8-core CPU with four high-performance and four high-efficiency cores
- 10-core GPU
- Up to 24GB of unified memory
- 100GB/s of memory bandwidth
- Plays up to two streams of 8K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps, or up to 12 streams of 4K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps
- Features two Thunderbolt 4 ports and
- Supports up to two display
- Price starts at $599 and $499 for education
Apple claims that the 2023 Mac mini with an M2 chip is 5x faster than the best Windows desktop and up to 50% faster than its predecessor.

- Up to a 12-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores
- Up to a 19-core GPU
- Up to 32GB of memory
- 200GB/s of memory bandwidth
- Plays up to five streams of 8K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps, or up to 23 streams of 4K ProRes 422 video at 30 fps.
- Features up to 32GB of memory
- Supports up to three displays including one 8K display
- Price starts at $1,299 and $1,199 for education
The M2 Pro-powered model is said to be up to 14x faster than the fastest Intel-based Mac mini, along with 15x faster gaming performance.
Both 2023 Mac mini models offer the following features:
- Two USB-A ports,
- an HDMI port,
- A Gigabit Ethernet port with a 10GB option,
- An upgraded headphone jack to support high-impedance headphones.
- Wi-Fi 6E5 for up to 2x faster throughput than before
- Bluetooth 5.3.
Both models are available for order with delivery beginning from January 24. Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak said:
