Apple TV+ renews hit workplace thriller 'Severance' for season 2

Apple TV+ has renewed its workplace thriller series ‘Severance’ for season two, ahead of season one’s finale slated to premiere this Friday.

One of Apple TV Plus’ biggest hits, Severance, will be returning for another season

While the Cupertino tech giant does not release viewing figures for its streaming service, Severance appears to be one of its more popular series. Starring Adam Scott, Severance follows employees of a mysterious company called Lumon industries which requires undergo a severance procedure that surgically separates their memories between their work and personal lives.

Along with Adam Scott, the cast features Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken among others. The series is directed by Ben Stiller and written and executive produced by Dan Erickson, who also serves as co-showrunner.

Along with routine promotional teasers and such, Apple went above and beyond for promoting Severance. In March, the company released a fictional tell-all companion book for the series titled Severance: The Lexington Letter. The book, which is available for free, offers a deep dive into the controversial procedure seen in the show from the perspective of a Lumon employee who risks everything to expose the truth.

Severance’s marketing team also gave Lumon Industries its own LinkedIn page. Other than serving as a marketing tactic, Lumon’s LinkedIn is also full of Easter eggs offering deeper insight into the show’s characters.

Season one does offer some answers to the mystery surrounding Lumon but also raises more questions. Viewers can check out the highly praised series on Apple TV+ today.
