Apple releases watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS 26.6 beta 2 with HealthKit and StoreKit fixes

Apple has released watchOS 26.6 beta 2, visionOS 26.6 beta 2, and tvOS 26.6 beta 2 to developers, continuing its round of late-cycle refinements across its ecosystem ahead of upcoming major platform updates.

As with other 26.6 betas, these updates are focused on stability improvements, bug fixes, and developer-facing adjustments rather than new consumer features. All three platforms include updated SDKs bundled with Xcode 26.6, allowing developers to test compatibility and refine apps ahead of final release.

Across watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS, Apple continues to address issues within core system frameworks, particularly HealthKit and StoreKit. These fixes are consistent across platforms, reinforcing Apple’s approach of maintaining shared health and testing infrastructure across its ecosystem.

In HealthKit, Apple resolved an issue where authorization screens failed to appear when requesting access to systolic and diastolic blood pressure data. Another fix addresses a problem where temporally weighted average statistics queries for discrete health metrics, such as Resting Heart Rate, could return inaccurately high values when health samples overlapped in time. These corrections improve the reliability of health data processing across Apple Watch and Vision Pro environments where HealthKit is used.

StoreKit also receives a key fix across all three platforms. Apple resolved an issue where SKTestSession failed to properly connect to the test environment when running in Simulator, which previously caused in-app purchase testing actions to fail. This update improves consistency for developers testing subscriptions and purchases across devices.

While visionOS and tvOS remain relatively lightweight in terms of public-facing changes, watchOS continues to align closely with Apple’s broader health ecosystem. The shared HealthKit fixes ensure consistency in how health data is processed and displayed across Apple Watch and other Apple devices.

These updates are primarily aimed at developers preparing apps for production stability. Apple is expected to continue iterating on the 26.6 cycle with additional beta releases before rolling out a final version later in the year.
