Beats Solo Buds Orange Launches at Best Buy in U.S., Japan Debut on July 4

Beats launched a new orange color for Solo Buds, at Best Buy in the U.S., with July 4, 2026 availability at 7-Eleven in Japan. The orange model features red Beats “b” logos on both the earbuds and charging case, distinguishing it from a purple-logo orange variant previously offered in India as a Diwali promotion with iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus purchases. This move continues Beats’ recent strategy of releasing exclusive color variants through specific retailers.

The standard retail price is $79.99, though Best Buy is currently running a $10 discount across all Solo Buds colors, bringing the orange variant down to $69.99. The buds retain the same specs as earlier color launches: up to 18 hours of battery life in the earbuds, a USB-C charging case with no internal battery, and passive noise isolation without active noise cancellation.

Here are the full features list from Apple:

  • Fully custom acoustic architecture
  • Ergonomically angled acoustic nozzles for a natural fit
  • Extended earbud battery life with up to 18 hours of playback, with Fast Fuel, a 5-minute charge gives up to 1 hour of playback
  • Compatible with both iOS and Android, including one-touch pairing
  • Support for Find My or Find My Device

This orange launch is the latest move in Beats’ shift toward retailer-exclusive color variants. Over the past 18 months, the company has released Ivory exclusively at Walmart (late 2025), Arctic Purple through Apple and Target (original launch), and now orange through Best Buy and 7-Eleven. The original June 2024 debut offered only Matte Black, Storm Gray, and Transparent Red across all retailers, making the current exclusivity strategy a notable pivot.

The orange color’s prior life as an India-exclusive giveaway suggests that Beats identified consumer appeal in the warm tone but needed a different path to monetize it in mature markets like the U.S. and Japan. Pairing it with retailer partnerships helps Beats differentiate its budget earbud offering where color and availability matter as much as audio specs.
