Apple creates an iPad ready websites showcase

Apple has created a new section on their website for iPad ready websites. It contains giants such as CNN, Reuters, New York Times and many more. By iPad ready, it means that they use web standards such as HTML5 so that you can easily view content in mobile Safari. Since the iPad doesn’t support Flash ( and never would unless there’s a miracle ), HTML5 video is the chosen web standard Apple is trying to get developers to support to make their content compatible with the iPad.

iPad features Safari, a mobile web browser that supports the latest web standards — including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Here are just a few of the sites that take advantage of these web standards to deliver content that looks and functions beautifully on iPad.

Apple has even created a form for website submission. If you think your website is based on the latest web standards, give it a shot.Submit your iPad ready website

It doesn’t seem like Apple has kept finger touch friendliness in mind when creating this showcase. Check out the websites here.
