Apple to release 30-Inch iMac with M3 chip and ProMotion technology

Apple enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting updates to the popular 24-inch iMac, but recent reports suggest that Apple might bypass this generation and introduce upgraded models instead. Additionally, the company is rumored to be adding another “All in One” model to its lineup, featuring a larger display than the iMac Pro.

The upcoming iMac is speculated to boast an impressive 30-inch display, surpassing the previous 27-inch iMac Pro. While specific details about the 30-inch iMac’s specifications remain unknown, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicates that Apple is also working on smaller desktops with a 24-inch screen. It is highly likely that the larger iMac will house a powerful version of Apple Silicon, following the iMac Pro’s utilization of Intel’s Xeon workstation processors. Furthermore, Apple is reportedly developing the M3 chip, which may find its way into the upgraded models with the same screen size.

To differentiate the 30-inch iMac from the rest of the lineup, Apple may offer it with M3 Pro or M3 Max options. Previous rumors suggest that the M3 Pro variant is being tested with a 12-core CPU, 18-core GPU, and support for 36GB of unified RAM. With the larger form factor, Apple will have more space for heat dissipation, allowing for the inclusion of a wider heat spreader to manage thermals efficiently. It remains uncertain whether Apple will opt for mini-LED technology or stick with an IPS LCD panel to balance production costs.

If the 30-inch iMac features an IPS display, Apple could potentially incorporate ProMotion technology to entice consumers to upgrade. However, the adoption of mini-LED technology would be highly appreciated by enthusiasts. It is worth noting that, unlike previous models, the Apple Silicon-based iMacs lack user-replaceable RAM, which could lead to financial constraints for consumers.

While the full extent of the upcoming iMac’s specifications remains unknown, we will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. Stay tuned for the latest developments surrounding the highly anticipated 30-inch iMac, and let’s keep our fingers crossed for an exciting release from Apple.
