Apple decreases prices of AppleCare+ plans for M1 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro users

The Cupertino tech giant has reduced the prices of AppleCare+ plans for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro users with an additional discount for M1 Mac owners. Starting today in the United States, AppleCare+ is now cheaper for the 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro than the Intel-based MacBook Pro.

The decreased prices are also available in other countries like Canada, but discounts may vary based on local currency. For the MacBook Air, the plan costs $199 down from $249.

For the 13-inch MacBook Pro variants, the tech giant has split AppleCare+ into two separate plans; for M1 and Intel-based models. The pricing for the M1 model has been lowered down to $249 from $269, while the Intel-based model remains unchanged at $269. Meaning customers can receive a slight discount for AppleCare+ when opting for M1-based Macs

AppleCare+ for Mac extends your coverage to three years from your AppleCare+ purchase date and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months, each subject to a service fee of $99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for other damage, plus applicable tax. In addition, you’ll get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts via chat or phone.

According to information obtained by Macrumors, users who recently purchased AppleCare+ plans for the abovementioned models can reach out to Apple Support, cancel their current plan and purchase a refresh one at the lowered price. However, the tech giant did not provide a cutoff date for eligibility.

AppleCare+ provides around-the-clock priority access to Apple’s technical support representatives by online chat or phone, as well as providing up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months. Each subject to a service fee of $99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for any other damage.
