Apple Invites has been updated to version 1.10, adding emoji reactions and a confetti animation to the RSVP experience. Both hosts and guests can now react to replies with emoji as the guest list fills in, and a confetti burst plays each time someone responds. The update also includes bug fixes and performance improvements, and it is available now on the App Store.
Apple launched Invites app in February 2025 as an iCloud+ companion app for creating digital invitations to birthdays, baby showers, graduation parties, and similar personal events. Creating an event requires an active iCloud+ subscription at the 50GB tier or higher, but anyone who receives an invitation link can RSVP for free on any device, including Android and the web.
The app has moved quickly since launch. An iMessage app arrived in April 2026, letting hosts share invitations directly in conversation threads. A June 2026 update added cohosting, public guest lists, and new background designs. Version 1.10 is the second update this summer.
Here are the full release notes for this update:
- Hosts and guests can now react to replies with emoji, so everyone can share the excitement as the guest list comes together.
- A delightful confetti animation now plays when guests reply, making every response feel like a celebration.
- This update contains bug fixes and performance improvements
Emoji reactions and confetti are minor features but they are a good addition to the user experience of Invites as a social invitation platform. Comments, reactions, and that sense that something is actually happening. A filling RSVP list with emoji reactions and celebratory animations makes the app feel alive in a way that a static headcount does not.
The app has really good ratings in the App Store, but it is still a niche product behind a paywall. A paywall which is not mentioned as an in-app purchase in the App Store listing, but as part of the app’s description where it says that it requires an active iCloud+ subscription. Despite being a paid product, Apple has still not released it for iPad and Mac.
