Apple mixed reality headset will launch in early 2023 – Report

Rumor mills claim that Cupertino tech company is developing an AR and VR headset to improve the gaming experience and the new Apple mixed reality headset would launch in 2022. Commenting on the device, Haitong International Securities’ analyst Jeff Pu said that the Apple mixed reality headset has been delayed and is likely to launch in 2023.

Previously, it was reported that the Apple mixed reality headset has passed the second-phase engineering validation tests and is on schedule for a late 2022 launch. However, the new report seen by 9to5Mac states otherwise.

Without giving reasons for the delay, Pu wrote that the Apple mixed reality headset will launch early next year. Analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities says that the product may be delayed until 2023.

In a report seen by 9to5Mac, Pu mentions that Apple’s new headset may face a slight delay for the first quarter of 2023. The analyst also believes that Apple will sell something between 1 million and 1.5 million units of its new headset in its first year.

Other reports claim that the new device might be powered by the M1-like processor and offer advanced features like hand gesture detection, iris recognition, eye tracking, voice control, facial expression detection, spatial detection, and skin detection.

Other alleged features of the Apple mixed reality headset are an Oculus-like lightweight design with Fresnel’s hybrid ultra-short focal length lenses, OLED displays with 3,000 PPI, and three displays. It is likely to cost thousands of dollars like the HoloLens headset and offer apps or services through monthly subscription plans to make a higher profit.
