Apple UK website had revealed a few days ago that Apple Music will be coming to PlayStation 5. Today, Sony has officially announced the availability of the music service.

With Apple Music for PlayStation 5, users can play music in the background while playing games. Music playback can be controlled by pressing the PS button on the DualSense wireless controller and accessing the Music Function card in Control Center. The service can also recommend music to match the game currently being played.

PS5 gamers can also playback music videos in 4K quality in full screen, and switch to audio-only when they start a game. When users end their gaming session and go back to the app, it will automatically switch back to the music video.

To use Apple Music, PS5 users will need to download the app from Media in PlayStation 5 and link their Apple account.

Apple Music offers various plans for individuals and families. The individual plan costs $9.99, while the family plan costs $14.99 per month, with 3 months of free trials for each plan. Apple will also be offering a Voice Plan soon which will cost $4.99 but it will only work with Siri on Apple devices. Users with Apple One plans can also use the music service as part of the bundle, which will also work on PlayStation 5.
