Apple sends out “WWDC 2022” RSVP to select invitees to be part of the event in-person

WWDC 2022 will be held from June 6 till June 10. For this year’s event as well, Apple has planned a pre-recorded all online format for the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) but a few randomly selected individuals will be invited to watch the keynote at Apple Park along with the company’s engineers and designers.

After opening the registration for in-person WWDC 2022 applications on May 9, the company has started to send out RSVPs to finalized invitees so they can confirm their attendance.

Apple WWDC 2022

Individuals selected to attend WWDC 2022 in person have till May 18 to confirm their attendance

At the breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, Apple switched to an online format for WWDC and closed in-person registration for the event. Now, the company has opened the “Developers Conference” for in-person participation after two years but with restrictions.

Because of the prevailing COVID-19 health measure, a few participants are invited to watch the WWDC 2022 Keynote in person which might be played in Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park Campus. The RSVP invite states that the selected individuals have till May 18 to confirm their attendance, otherwise their invite will be canceled and transferred to someone else. The invite reads:

We’re thriller to let you know that you’re invited to kick off WWDC22 at Apple Park on June 6, 2022.

To attend this one-day special event, please RSVP by May 18 at 6:00 P.T.

After that time, the confirmation link will no longer be active and your invitation will be offered to another applicant.

Please note that invitations aren’t transferrable.

Participants will have to follow Apple’s health and safety protocol which includes a negative COVID-19 test no older than three days before the event is required to attend the event at Apple Park and wearing a mask requirement will be optional.

In the official announcement, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing, Susan Prescott said:

“At its heart, WWDC has always been a forum to create connection and build community. In that spirit, WWDC22 invites developers from around the world to come together to explore how to bring their best ideas to life and push the envelope of what’s possible. We love connecting with our developers, and we hope all of our participants come away feeling energized by their experience.”
