Beats Studio Buds’ latest firmware update brings instant pairing, battery pop-up, and more

In the latest firmware update of Beats Studio Buds, Apple has introduced new features like instant pairing with Apple devices, battery status pop-up, and more volume control options.

Apple acquired Beats by Dre in 2014 and has been introducing new headphones since then. However, the newer models have a lot common with Apple’s AirPods Pro wireless headphones.

Launched in June 2021, Beats Studio Buds have a lightweight and in-the-ear design for comfortable all-day wear. The earbuds come in a charging case for longer battery life and offer Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, “Hey Siri” support, and other features for $150. Studio Buds are compatible with Android and iOS devices.

Beats Studio Buds updated to the latest firmware version offer three new features which make it easier to pair, check battery life, and control volume. Here is everything new in the wireless headphones:

  • Studio Buds instantly pair with all Apple devices connected to the users’ iCloud account. Like AirPods, Studio Buds too pair with iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV with a single tap.
  • A battery pop-up appears on iPhone’s Home Screen when Studio Buds charging case is held near the smartphone. The pop-up shows the battery percentage of the charging case and each earbud.
  • The “b” button on the Studio Buds can now be customized to control volume. Using the iOS Bluetooth menu or the Beats app on Android, users can configure the earbuds to increase or decrease the volume.

Previously, it was rumored that Apple is planning to phase out Beats headphones after the launch of AirPods series headphones. But the company has done the opposite. The tech giant is not only updating the Beats lineup but also introducing features associated with the Apple brand. Recently, the company added the engraving option on the charging case of Beats Fit Pro and Powerbeats Pro headphones purchase via Apple’s online store.
