Facebook App for iOS Gets Updated To Version 5.1 – Brings Photo Filters and Multi-Photo Uploads

Facebook has updated their iOS app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch taking it to version 5.1which brings photo filters and multi photo uploads. Facebook has been taking full advantage of their Instagram acquisition. First, they introduced Instagram web profiles and now they have integrated photo filters in to their native app for iOS.

Facebook launched their Camera app earlier this year for taking and filtering photos and uploading them to the social network. By updating the iOS app, they has merged the functionality of this app with the iOS app allowing users to apply one of the several different filters to images, including Neon, B + W, Highlight and Boost.

To apply filters to your photos, select the photos using the green checkbox and then select from 13 filters. You can also crop and rotate your pictures before uploading them to Facebook.

The updated app comes with the ability to share multiple photographs at once and introduces a new method to message your friends. Just swipe left anywhere in the app to quickly see who’s available and send a message. You can add friends you message the most to the top of your Favourites. Also with updated app, you can now buy and send gifts to your Facebook friends in US right from within the mobile app.
