Google Voice Chrome Extension Controls Google Voice from the Menu Bar

For those who use Google’s services, Google Voice is one of the most useful. It provides free texting and online voicemail. A friend of mine uses Google Voice to unify his phone numbers. For those who use Google Voice, there is a handy Chrome extension that allows you to text and call straight from the menu bar.

The Google Voice extension can be downloaded here, and provides a small, easy-to-use interface. From the extension, you can send a text, place a call, and view your inbox. When you receive a text, a small “ding” goes off. The only major drawback is that the ding isn’t very loud, and could be completely missed while listening to music or watching a video. However, if you use Google Voice on a regular basis, this is a very useful extension.
