Apple has introduced new customization options for Siri AI in iOS 27 Beta 3, giving eligible users more control over how the assistant sounds. The update lets users adjust the pace and expressiveness of Siri’s new natural voice, marking another step in Apple’s rollout of its Apple Intelligence-powered assistant.

The new controls are currently limited to devices powered by the A19 Pro chip, including the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple’s Siri AI features require at least 12GB of RAM, which is why the new voice customization settings are not available on older iPhone models.
Users running iOS 27 Beta 3 on supported devices can find two new sliders in the Settings app that adjust Siri’s speaking pace and overall expressiveness. These options allow users to personalize Siri’s voice while keeping the assistant’s more natural conversational style introduced with iOS 27.
Apple has also refreshed Siri’s interface with a more noticeable glow beneath the Siri orb during interactions, giving the assistant a slightly more polished appearance.
Another small but useful change appears during the Apple Intelligence setup process. The “Indexing” status message has been renamed to “Optimizing Search and Siri,” making it clearer what the system is doing while preparing on-device AI features. In the Camera app, Apple now also displays a message explaining that Siri Mode requires Siri AI.
Some developers have also reported that upgrading from iOS 27 Beta 2 to Beta 3 requires the Siri AI model to be downloaded again. In certain cases, this has temporarily placed users back on the Siri AI waitlist while the model is reinstalled.
Outside of Siri, iOS 27 Beta 3 includes a minor visual update to the Reminders app icon, which now features darker bullet points for improved contrast. The release otherwise focuses primarily on bug fixes, stability improvements, and under-the-hood refinements rather than major new user-facing features.
