The biggest and most expensive 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max model is the most popular 5G smartphone in 49 states in the U.S. Based on usage by Okla and sales numbers by M Science, it is reported that iPhone 12 Pro Max is highly favored in the U.S. The other models, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are in close competition for second and third positions in the country.
The latest flagship 5G iPhone 12 series was launched in October 2020, and immediately it was reported that the Pro and Pro Max models have been successful in attracting consumers, despite the COVID-19 pandemic low spending trend. New features and advanced technology introduced are the reasons for the line-up’s success.
iPhone 12 Pro Max leads the smartphone market in the U.S
PCMag writes that according to both data providers, bigger smartphones appealed the to U.S population while smaller handsets were a miss. Behind iPhone 12 Pro models, Samsung’s Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra were popular smartphones.
M Science agrees with other reports we’ve seen that smaller premium phones don’t appeal to US consumers en masse. The iPhone 12 mini and the small Galaxy S20 5G were the least popular phones of their respective cohorts, with the 12 mini ranking below several Samsung phones.
Since the launch, the smallest 4.7-inch iPhone 12 mini sales have been disappointing. A recent study revealed that iPhone 12 mini only accounted for 5% sales out of all the models in Q1 2021 and judging the models’ demand, Apple has made iPhone 12 mini production cuts.
The report also states that LG Wing 5G, TCL 10 5G UW, OnePlus Nord N10, Motorola Edge+, and Nokia 8 V 5G UW were at the bottom of the popularity list.
Along with the top-selling phones on M Science’s list, we looked at the bottom sellers. LG’s wild, wacky Wing 5G didn’t attract many buyers, but don’t cry too much for LG, as it also had the best overall-selling 5G phone that wasn’t from Samsung or Apple. The position of the OnePlus Nord N10 5G on this chart is a little misleading, because M Science’s Mark Bachman tells me its data is from before that phone hit shelves at Metro by T-Mobile, which is where the Nord N10 has found its success.
