The first iPhone Duo unboxing videos have landed on YouTube, two days before the foldable goes on sale on Friday, October 23. They show a unit coming out of its box and unfolded in hand, which gives US buyers a first look at the packaging ahead of launch day.
Both clips come from the Kingmi Mobile channel, which posted an unboxing and hands-on on the morning of Tuesday, October 20 and a Night Sky 1TB unboxing that afternoon. The iPhone Duo ships flat instead of folded, and the box is otherwise packed like any other iPhone.
The channel says it is based in Saudi Arabia, where the iPhone Duo also goes on sale on October 23, though the boxes in the clips appear to carry Chinese text that hints at units sourced from China. The title of the first clip also claims an invisible crease, which only full reviews can confirm.

The 1TB model costs $2,599 in the United States, which makes it the second most expensive iPhone Duo. Only the 2TB model at $3,199 costs more, while the 256GB model starts at $1,999 and the 512GB model costs $2,199. Apple sells every size in Night Sky and Star White.
The iPhone Duo Arrives Flat in a Fiber-Based Box With No SIM Tray
Apple packs the iPhone Duo in a 100% fiber-based box that can usually go straight into household recycling. There is no SIM tray to hunt for, since the iPhone Duo activates only with an eSIM.
Carrier-connected units arrive ready to activate if the carrier steps were completed at checkout, and setup needs Wi-Fi. Buyers who chose to connect later can activate service once the phone arrives.
Keep the box until you are sure the phone is staying. Returns require the phone in good condition and in its original packaging with all accessories, manuals and instructions.
The 7.6-inch folding display is the first thing to look at. It carries a custom nano-texture finish that reduces glare, so expect a matte look on that screen.
Both the inner display and the 5.4-inch outer display reach 3,000 nits of peak brightness with ProMotion up to 120Hz. The iPhone Duo has no Action button, though it does include Camera Control for faster access to photo and video tools.
A few more hardware details are worth checking once the phone is out of the box:
- Touch ID sits in the side button and works with the phone open or closed.
- The frame and hinge cover are Grade 5 titanium, and the phone is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance.
- The inner display hides an under-display FaceTime camera until it is needed.
- The rear 48MP Dual Fusion system pairs a Fusion Main camera with a Fusion Ultra Wide camera and has no telephoto lens.
Apple’s online store has been quoting a January 25 delivery estimate for new iPhone Duo orders since pre-orders opened on October 16. Some earlier pre-orders have since moved up to November, which does not help anyone ordering now.
The online store points shoppers to October 24 for pickup availability, and Apple Store employees have reportedly been told to warn customers that walk-in stock is unlikely on launch day.
Apple also caps US online orders at two iPhone Duo units per customer.
