Apple is reportedly adding redesigned Focus controls to the Lock Screen on the iPhone Duo. When a Focus mode is active, a new button lets you switch it off and back on without leaving the Lock Screen.
The details come from code explorer pdfu, who posted the feature on X. The same account earlier pointed to the Photo Face coming to StandBy on the iPhone Duo, so this is another software detail surfacing before the phone ships.
The Focus Button Appears Above the Bottom Controls on the Lock Screen
pdfu says the button only shows up while a Focus mode is turned on. It sits above the bottom controls on the Lock Screen. Tapping it turns the active Focus off, and tapping it again turns the Focus back on for as long as you stay on the Lock Screen.

Focus modes can be turned on manually or run on a schedule, so a Focus can already be active when you pick up the phone. A button on the Lock Screen lets you pause it right where you notice it.
The active Focus also appears in the status bar above the clock when you unlock the device. Focus modes can silence notifications, so seeing the active one after you unlock the phone explains why alerts may be quiet.
The iPhone Duo Software Is Taking Shape Ahead of the October Launch
The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone, with a 7.6-inch inner display and a starting price of $1,999 in the US. Apple built software around the fold, including a fixed 50/50 Split View that locks two apps side by side.
Other details have come from code and leaks rather than from Apple. The foldable’s StandBy mode may get five new faces and a face editor, and the Focus controls now join the list of changes found ahead of launch.
Apple’s get ready process opens on October 12, four days before pre-orders begin. Readers who want the wider software picture can check the list of 100+ iOS 27 features and changes confirmed for iPhone. The iPhone Duo vs iPhone 18 Pro comparison covers what else sets the foldable apart from Apple’s standard flagship.
Our iPhone Duo pre-order guide has the full price list. Pre-orders open on October 16 at 8 a.m. Eastern Time, and the iPhone Duo is available from October 23.
