Meta Launches Muse Wonder, Its Most Capable AI Model Yet

Meta has launched Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, two AI models it describes as its most capable to date. Both are built for agents that handle personal and professional tasks, from working through an insurance claim to reading a lease or building a working app.

Meta announced the Muse Wonder series today with availability starting through the Meta Model API and Muse Code, while Muse Wonder Full is limited to Muse Code subscribers.

Muse Wonder will also power the Muse personal AI agent app, which Meta launched in September. Meta says the rollout inside Muse starts with subscribers.

Active Memory and Active Focus Are Built for Longer Tasks

Meta pairs two new features in Muse Wonder. Active Memory carries details about you across conversations and brings back the ones that matter for the task at hand. Active Focus keeps the model working when a task gets hard, and it asks for clarification or checks in before doing anything important.

Meta AI chief Alexandr Wang told CNBC that real-world tasks like booking a dinner reservation hit roadblocks. Meta trained the model to “try other approaches instead of stalling” and to check back with the user at any point. CNBC also reports that Muse Wonder was codenamed Watermelon internally.

Meta tests these abilities with benchmarks that include FocusBench and SWE-Marathon, which covers long-running software projects. Harvey’s Legal Agent Benchmark is part of the legal testing, and Meta says the models also handle finance and health tasks. Both models were trained at Meta’s gigawatt-scale Prometheus data center, and the full benchmark comparison against other frontier models sits in Meta’s model card.

Meta Says Muse Wonder Has Its Strongest Safeguards Yet

Meta says the Muse Wonder series has its strongest protections to date against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and cyber misuse. The models can still help developers and security teams find flaws in their own code.

Wang also addressed complaints from some Muse users on social media who say the agent accessed personal messages without authorization. Meta disputes those claims. Wang said users may have approved certain communications earlier in a conversation and then forgotten, and that Meta is working to educate people on how the app handles permissions.

Muse Wonder Requires a Paid Plan Across Meta’s Products

The Muse app is free to download and climbed to the top of Apple’s App Store after launch. It is also available on iPad. Muse Wonder is not part of the free tier, and app users need a monthly subscription to access it. Meta already sells paid AI tools in its social apps through Meta One plans.

Here is how the pricing breaks down across the Muse Wonder series.

  • Muse app subscription with Muse Wonder: $20 or $100 per month
  • Muse Code subscription with Muse Wonder Full: $50 or $200 per month
  • Meta Model API access to Muse Wonder: priced above the standard subscriptions, but well below leading models from OpenAI and Anthropic, according to Wang

Muse Wonder Full is available only to Muse Code subscribers, on plans that cost $50 or $200 a month.
