New concept shows iPhone 13’s rumored always-on display

Recently many rumors regarding Always-on Display feature arriving on the iPhone 13 have surfaced. A recent report claims that Apple is planning to add Portrait mode and an astrophotography mode for video on the iPhone 13 line-up.

In that regard, a new concept video shows how the Cupertino tech giant could differentiate its approach to the feature compared to what we have seen over the past few years with Android. Android smartphones have had the feature Always-on Display for many years now, in 2021 maybe we could see Apple adopt the same feature for iPhone 13.

iPhone 13’s rumored always-on display imagined with various possibilities in a new concept video

The video was posted by EverythingApplePro on YouTube with Max Weinbach. The video showcases exclusive iPhone 13 leaks, 120Hz Always-on Display, new matte texture, shorter notch, improved MagSafe, cooling chamber, and more.

Always-On Display will have minimal customizability. Current design basically looks like a toned down locks creen. Clock and battery charge is always visible. Notifications seem to be displayed using a bar and icons. Upon receiving, the notification will pop up normally except that the screen will not entirely light up. Instead, it will display just like you’re used to right now, except dimmed down and only temporally.

A YouTuber, A Better Computer, has also shared a video in which he shows different concepts for how Apple could provide an Always-on Display on iPhone 13.

Initially, the concept includes a “lazy mock-up”, “slightly less lazy mock-up”, a conservative concept, and then at the end a look at what an Always-on Display would look like with widgets.

According to Weinbach’s report, the tech company is working on keeping the Always-on Display feature more minimal. There is still a lot to consider beyond functionality like privacy, battery life, and more. A Better Computer says that given that Apple is many years behind Android in this feature, the company might be willing to go for a bold introduction.
