Nitelore Is a Free Anti-Gravity Racer for iPhone and Apple Watch

Nitelore is a free anti-gravity racing game for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch, with Grand Prix seasons, online multiplayer and rival pilots who fight back. You race at extreme speeds across cities, volcanoes, alien worlds and deep space.

The game comes from Crabware Ltd and is on the App Store as a free download with in-app purchases. It requires iOS 17.0 or later and carries a 9+ age rating for infrequent horror and fear themes, contests and weapons.

Nitelore’s latest update, version 1.10, adds touch controls with left and right buttons. It does not mention the iPhone Duo, so look for the Made for iPhone Duo badge on the App Store page before you expect the game to fill the inner display.

Four race modes change what winning means

Nitelore has four race modes, and each one changes how a race plays out.

  • Grand Prix takes you through complete seasons toward the championship
  • Time Attack races you against your personal-best ghost
  • Elimination blows up the last vehicle every 20 seconds
  • Death Race lets you attack rivals until one ship is left standing

Online multiplayer arrived in version 1.6 with quick races, friend invites and a Time Duel mode. Version 1.7 added crossplay with Apple TV, so your purchases and progress carry over if you also race on a TV. Version 1.8 brought the Offworld bundle with three off-world tracks, including Terra Invictus in earth orbit, I/O on a volcanic moon of Jupiter and the Caverns of Mars.

Daily challenges range from precision time trials to explosive combat, and every attempt earns progress and coins toward new ships and upgrades, even if you do not win. Each ship has its own handling and performance characteristics, so the upgrades change how a race feels.

The game runs on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch

You can steer with tilt, touch or a game controller, and a keyboard works on Mac and iPad. Chase, tight and cockpit camera views are available, and a pacifist mode for Grand Prix lets you race without being blown up. Compatible PlayStation, Xbox and MFi controllers are supported.

Version 1.9 added Apple Watch racing, where you steer with the Digital Crown in mini races on your wrist.

Seasonal events add limited-time tracks, including a Halloween event on Blackwood Falls, and the Offworld Expansion season adds three new tracks and a new cup.
