Redsn0w has been one of the most popular jailbreak tools for the iPhone OS. Ever since firmware 3.1.2 was released, we’ve all been relying on blackra1n by Geohotz for our jailbreak needs, but finally redsn0w 0.9 is on its way now. Musclenerd, an iPhone hacker and part of the Dev team that brings out the unlocks and jailbreaks for iDevices, is rewriting redsn0w to make it work with firmware 3.1.2. It’ll be soon released for Windows and followed by OS X and Linux releases. Now, the important question: will it fix tethered jailbreak woes for new iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G and iPod Touch3G? Sadly, no.
While it may not be much different than blackra1n for users with the new iPhone and iPod touch, new features such as custom boot logo and custom recovery logo might be interesting.
A proper release date hasn’t been announced but Redsn0w 0.9 is under testing currently so expect more news about it very soon.
Stay tuned for the latest updates on Redsn0w 0.9!
