Apple Support app now offers price estimates for repairs in select locations and more

Apple has updated its Apple Support app for iPhone and iPad to include price estimates for some repairs in select locations around the world. The move can help users get an estimate for how much a device repair will cost ahead of time with some common repairs now offering price tags.

Updated Apple Support app features repair cost estimates, new text entry option

Version 4.5 of the Apple Support allows users to see an estimated price for a ton of common repairs like a cracked screen, a cracked back, or battery service. However, there are no estimates offered for complex services such as liquid damage or camera issues. Users will still need to bring their devices in for an assessment and a quote if there is extensive damage.

After installing the update for the Apple Support app, you can tap on a device you own in the “My Devices” list and then choose “Repairs & Physical Damage” to see a list of options for repairs.

In addition to this, Apple has also added a new text input box in the “My Devices” section that allows users to describe what is happening to their advice in their own words. This will make it easier for users to find the support they need from the app’s recommended options.

The Apple Support app previously had a similar text try box but it would only appear after a user-selected a repair problem. Other updates in version 4.5 of Apple Support include support in Ukraine, as well as performance enhancements and bug fixes. Here are the full release notes for the update:

– Tell us what’s happening in your own words to get relevant support options
– See price estimates for common repair topics in select locations
– App now available and translated for users in Ukraine
– Performance enhancements and bug fixes

The Apple Support app is a great tool for helping users get repairs or support for their Apple products and services. The app can be downloaded from the App Store for free.
