Apple Self Service Repair Adds iPhone 18 Pro, Mac Studio and Mac Mini

Apple Self Service Repair now covers the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with the Mac Studio with M5 Max or M5 Ultra and the Mac mini with M6 or M5 Pro. US customers can order genuine parts for all four from Apple’s store, and buy or rent the tools to install them.

The parts and tools are listed on the Self Service Repair Store, where each repair type pulls up the part along with the screws, adhesive and tools that go with it. Apple has run the program since 2022, and the store now spans iPhone, iPad, Mac, displays and Beats products.

iPhone 18 Pro repairs cover 13 part categories

The iPhone 18 Pro listing breaks down into back glass, battery, bottom speaker, camera, display, enclosure, front camera, logic board, main microphone, SIM tray, Taptic Engine, top speaker and an “Other Parts” group. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is listed in the same store.

Replacement batteries for the iPhone 18 Pro are listed at $129. Small items cost little, with display adhesive at $1.62 and screws at $0.18 each.

Tools are sold individually or rented as a kit, and Apple charges $49 for a 7-day iPhone 18 Pro Tool Kit rental. Buying piece by piece starts at $0.70 for an adhesive cutter, $1 for a suction cup, $2.50 for a nylon probe and $5 for an adhesive removal tool. The Repair Tray is $26.50, the Battery Press is $115, the iPhone Display Press is $216 and the Heated Display Removal Fixture is $256.35.

Torque drivers run from $67.05 for the adjustable model up to $100 for the blue, teal and orange versions.

The iPhone 18 Pro camera still costs $249

A replacement iPhone 18 Pro camera is $249, and Apple credits $59.76 when the old one is sent back, which brings the cost down to $189.24. The iPhone 17 Pro camera carries the same price and the same credit, even though the iPhone 18 Pro adds a variable aperture to the main camera.

Mac Studio lists 21 part categories, Mac mini 15

The Mac Studio with M5 Max or M5 Ultra gets the longer list. It covers the back Thunderbolt 4 ports, front USB-C ports, fan, speaker, power supply, battery and logic board, plus an Ethernet board, an SDXC card slot board and three antenna parts. SSD modules are on the list too, so owners of the M5 Ultra Mac Studio and the M5 Max version can order them as separate parts.

The Mac mini with M6 or M5 Pro has a shorter list. It includes the fan, speaker, logic board, battery, power supply, front USB-C ports, bottom cover and power button, along with an audio board for the status indicator light and a set of Wi-Fi antenna parts. There is no SSD module entry for the Mac mini, because the M6 and M5 Pro models went back to soldered storage.
