Street Fighter II classic is now available for iPhone and iPod Touch. Capcom has launched a ‘tokens based’ free-to-play Capcom Arcade app for the iPhone and iPod Touch through which you can play the all time classic hit. The app also includes classic games like Commando, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and 1942.
You can purchase “tokens” to play each of the games for for $0.99, or you can pay $2.99 for unlimited access to the game of of your choice. However, you only get 3 free plays per day which means you can still play the games without paying anything at all. Pretty cool, we must add.
Capcom Arcade features two modes of play, the “iPhone” mode and the “Classic” mode while also promising that new games will be added to it every month. A complete list of features is given below:
• Classic arcade versions of Street Fighter II, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, 1942 and Commando are available to play
• New games to be added every month
• Two game play modes: “iPhone” mode for more casual gamers and “Classic” mode for purists

It seems that Capcom has started a new era of touch-based arcade gaming with an old concept of buying “tokens” to play its all time greatest arcade hits. After spending a brief amount of time playing the game, we can assure you that Capcom has recreated the entire Street Fighter experience on iOS. We can’t forget Ghouls ‘n Ghosts either, which is regarded as one of the most difficult games to play of all times.
Even if you don’t want to pay for the games, give Capcom Arcade a try for the free plays it gives every day. It’s worth it to have Street Fighter on your iPhone!
