Most Macs Apple sells in October 2026 now have Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The exceptions are the iMac with M4, the MacBook Neo and the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5.
Apple’s list Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread networking for each model that includes the Apple N1 wireless networking chip. Here is how the lineup splits.
Every Mac with the N1 chip supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread
| Mac | Wi-Fi | Bluetooth |
|---|---|---|
| 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 | Wi-Fi 7 | Bluetooth 6 |
| 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M5 Pro or M5 Max | Wi-Fi 7 | Bluetooth 6 |
| MacBook Air with M5 (13-inch and 15-inch) | Wi-Fi 7 | Bluetooth 6 |
| Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro | Wi-Fi 7 | Bluetooth 6 |
| Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra | Wi-Fi 7 | Bluetooth 6 |
| iMac with M6 | Wi-Fi 7 | Bluetooth 6 |
The N1 chip is not new to the Mac. It already sits inside the MacBook Air, Mac mini and Mac Studio, and the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 is the latest model to add it.

Three Macs are still on older wireless
Apple lists Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for the iMac with M4 and the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5. The MacBook Neo, which uses the A18 Pro chip, also has Wi-Fi 6E, though it does get Bluetooth 6.
Apple’s spec pages for these models do not list the N1 chip or Thread. If you are weighing the older models, our iMac comparison and MacBook Pro comparison show the full list of differences.
Wi-Fi 7 availability varies by country
Apple’s footnote on the MacBook Pro page says Wi-Fi 7 availability varies by country. The MacBook Air spec page adds “where supported by region”, and the Mac mini page carries the same country caveat.
So a Mac that lists Wi-Fi 7 may not run it everywhere. Apple points to its support page for the country list, so check it before you buy.
Wi-Fi 7 only helps if your router supports it
Wi-Fi 7 is a feature of both ends of the connection. A Mac with an N1 chip will fall back to an older Wi-Fi standard on an older router. Thread networking is listed separately on Apple’s spec pages for every N1 model above.
Our 2026 hardware roundup tracks each Mac launch this year.
Wireless is now a clear dividing line in the Mac lineup. If you buy new, the iMac with M6 and 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 both include Wi-Fi 7, while the iMac with M4 and 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 do not.
Pre-orders for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 open October 28, and it arrives on Friday, November 6.
