In recent updates to its WWDC 2023 webpage and social media posts, Apple has been dropping hints about a “new era” that commences on Monday. Speculation suggests that this could be related to the long-awaited Apple Reality Pro mixed reality headset.

Priced at around $3,000, the headset is rumored to feature cutting-edge technology, including an innovative three-display configuration with two 4K Micro-LED panels. Notably, users may have the ability to seamlessly switch between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) modes, a feature that aligns with the upcoming xrOS software.

To support developers in leveraging the potential of xrOS, Apple plans to host workshops during WWDC 2023. These sessions will cover various topics, including app creation for the headset, strategies for porting iOS apps to the mixed-reality platform, and design guidelines for creating immersive virtual reality experiences. These efforts demonstrate Apple’s commitment to nurturing a strong developer ecosystem for its upcoming mixed-reality products.

The WWDC 2023 opening keynote will be held on Monday, June 5, at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. For comprehensive coverage of the event and subsequent announcements, stay tuned to iThinkDiff.com.
