“Emancipation,” star Will Smith shares an exclusive link for a free two-month Apple TV+ trial

Will Smith’s “Emancipation,” follows Peter, a man who gets separated from his family and is subsequently sold into slavery. The film chronicles the journey of Peter’s escape from his enslavers. All Peter has to help him escape is his wit, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. The film is based on real-life events:

The film is inspired by the 1863 photos of “Whipped Peter,” taken during a Union Army medical examination, that first appeared in Harper’s Weekly. One image, known as “The Scourged Back,” which shows Peter’s bare back mutilated by a whipping delivered by his enslavers, ultimately contributed to growing public opposition to slavery.

Will Smith announced the Apple TV+ offer on his Instagram, urging fans to sign up for the service so that they can watch “Emancipation.” If you are interested in redeeming the offer, click here.

When you open the link, there is a notice that says that the offer can be redeemed by both new and “qualified” returning users. All you need to redeem the two-month trial is an Apple ID.
