Granola Launches Apple Watch App for AI Meeting Notes

Granola has launched a dedicated Apple Watch app, making it easier to capture AI-powered meeting notes without pulling out your iPhone or Mac. The update is designed for in-person conversations, walking meetings, brainstorming sessions, and quick chats where opening a laptop feels unnecessary.

The new Apple Watch app lets you start and stop recordings with a single tap on your wrist, then automatically syncs your notes across your Apple devices for review later.

Granola brings AI meeting notes to Apple Watch

Unlike traditional note-taking apps, Granola focuses on capturing conversations while letting you stay engaged with the people around you. Starting a recording turns the Apple Watch display bright green and plays a confirmation sound, making it clear that note-taking has begun.

Before scheduled meetings, the app can send a gentle reminder to start recording. For spontaneous conversations, you can also add Granola as a complication, giving you one-tap access directly from your watch face.

Once a meeting ends, recordings sync automatically to the Granola app on iPhone and Mac, as well as Windows PCs, where they can be reviewed, edited, or shared.

Built for meetings away from your desk

Granola says the Apple Watch version is aimed at situations where using a laptop isn’t practical, including:

  • Walking one-on-one meetings
  • Brainstorming sessions at a whiteboard
  • Coffee chats
  • Informal team discussions

Because recording starts from the Apple Watch, users can leave their laptop closed while Granola captures the conversation in the background.

The company says notes can also be used with connected AI workflows through Granola MCP, allowing them to become context for supported AI tools.

Granola for Apple Watch is available today as a free update. Download the app here.

To use it, download or update the Granola iPhone app, sign in, and complete the Apple Watch setup inside the app. The feature requires an Apple Watch running watchOS 11 or later.
