macOS 27.2 Beta 1 Now Available, Here's How to Install It

Apple is moving fast this week. Just days after releasing macOS 27 Golden Gate to everyone, the company has already pushed out the first developer beta of macOS 27.2.

Like the iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 released the same day, macOS 27.2 beta 1 skips over macOS 27.1 entirely. The build number for this release is 26B5086k.

During its “Surprise and Shine” event earlier this month, Apple said the new Siri AI, which launched in English only, would expand to five more languages in October. Those languages are French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Since macOS 27.2 beta 1 arrived the same day as the language expansion on iPhone, developers may find early support for these languages on Mac as well.

Apple has also not confirmed a new rollout date for two features that were announced at WWDC but did not make it into the first macOS 27 release. One is an agentic feature in Passwords that automatically changes leaked passwords. The other adds suggestions inside Messages conversations. Developers are currently checking whether either feature made it into this build.

Apple Intelligence features require supported hardware and a supported language. Siri AI is available in beta in macOS 27 and is rolling out in English initially. Availability can vary by region and language.
