visionOS 27 does not reinvent how Apple Vision Pro works. It smooths out the friction points, and most of what changed is worth turning on deliberately rather than waiting to stumble across it. Here are 10 things to try first.
New features in visionOS 27 include the new Siri AI, spatial photo scenes, and faster Wi-Fi connectivity as the core additions in this release.
Turn On Siri AI and Try the Floating 3D Orb
- A floating 3D orb can be placed anywhere in your workspace, and simply looking at it starts a conversation instead of saying “Hey Siri” every time
- Visual Intelligence lets you ask Siri about objects, documents, or app windows just by looking at them
- A dedicated Siri app keeps previous conversations available instead of losing them when you close the assistant
Turn Your Panoramas Into Spatial Scenes
- Panorama photos can be converted into spatial scenes with real depth, rather than displaying as a flat wide image
- Use a converted panorama as your personal Environment instead of one of Apple’s built-in options
- Apple also added Thórsmörk, a new built-in Environment based on the Icelandic nature reserve known for its glaciers and valleys
Explore Curved Windows and the Redesigned Control Center
- Safari, Freeform, and Apple TV now support curved window layouts that wrap content around your field of view, so long pages and widescreen video fit more naturally
- Control Center has been redesigned this year
- Extra-small widgets are now available for tighter spots around your workspace
- Screen recording captures at a higher quality, with noticeably less blurring than before
Unlike iPhone and iPad, Siri AI is available in the European Union on Vision Pro from day one, according to Apple, since Vision Pro is not covered by the same regulatory restrictions that delayed Siri AI elsewhere in the region.
