Gentler Streak now has an iPhone Duo version. The fitness tracker’s App Store page features a “Major Update” for the foldable, described as optimized for dual screens and giving more info than ever.
The update arrives as the iPhone Duo goes on sale on October 23. The app has carried an adaptive layout since version 5.13, which the developer said would fit any screen size, including the iPhone Duo.
Gentler Streak’s adaptive layout has been in place since version 5.13
Version 5.13 came out on September 14 with an adaptive layout that lets the app fit any screen size. It shipped alongside Siri support, refreshed icons and a Liquid Glass look, all covered in our report on the Gentler Streak iOS 27 update.
The latest version, 5.13.4, followed on October 8. It fixes loading problems that some people hit after updating to iOS 27 and adds an HRV method that better reflects recovery on the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. It also adds a temperature view with a baseline on iOS 27.
The app is built around readiness, recovery and rest days
Gentler Streak starts each day with a summary of key vitals and sleep, then suggests workouts based on how ready you are. Suggestions range from rest to high-intensity exercise, and the Go Gentler option on Apple Watch lets you scale a session up or down.
You keep your streak alive by following what your body needs, including rest days. If you are ill, injured or on vacation, you can change your status so the app reflects real life. The Apple Watch workout tracker shows training effect and heart rate zones in real time, plus a countdown to overreaching. The Activity Path can be switched between a daily, 10-day or 30-day view.
The app tracks 161 workout types, and workout summaries work as a journal with notes, photos, renamed sessions and an effort chart. The developer says your health and fitness data stays on the device through Apple HealthKit.
Gentler Streak is free with Premium plans for advanced features
Gentler Streak is a free download from the App Store with in-app purchases. Premium comes as a monthly, yearly or lifetime plan and supports Family Sharing. Gentler Stories, the developer, also makes The Outsiders, a training app for runners, cyclists and other endurance athletes. The app won a 2024 Apple Design Award for Social Impact, and the 2024 Apple Design Awards winners list includes it alongside The Wreck and Lies of P.
Gentler Streak requires iOS 16.0 or later on iPhone and watchOS 9.0 or later on Apple Watch.
