Gentler Streak and The Outsiders are getting a major iOS 27 refresh, with both fitness apps adding Siri support alongside Apple’s updated Liquid Glass design. The new updates, Gentler Streak 5.13 and The Outsiders 1.8, make it possible to access workout and health information through Siri without constantly opening the apps.
The updates also go beyond Siri. Both apps now use adaptive layouts that adjust to different screen sizes and window positions, while on-device AI can suggest more descriptive names for recorded workouts. Together, these changes make the apps feel more closely integrated with the rest of iOS 27.
Siri Can Now Answer Your Fitness Questions
The biggest addition is Siri support through Apple’s App Intents framework. Users can ask Siri for information from Gentler Streak or The Outsiders without opening the app first. To make sure Siri uses the correct app, the app name should be included in the request.
Gentler Streak can answer questions about today’s workouts, current activity status, Go Gentler workout suggestions, daily body metrics and the previous night’s sleep. The Outsiders focuses more on training, with Siri able to provide training readiness, today’s workouts, daily body metrics and sleep information.
This makes Siri more useful as a quick fitness assistant. Instead of opening an app, finding the right screen and checking a metric, users can simply ask for the information they need.
Siri Can Explain What Is On Screen
The Siri integration also takes advantage of on-screen awareness. When users are already inside Gentler Streak or The Outsiders, they can ask Siri about the information currently displayed on the screen.
For example, a workout summary or health chart can be open while Siri is asked to explain what is being shown. Siri can use that screen context to provide an explanation, giving users another way to understand the data without navigating through the app.
Liquid Glass Gives Both Apps A New Look
Both updates adopt Apple’s refreshed Liquid Glass design language introduced with iOS 27. The interface now has a glassier appearance designed to fit more naturally with the updated system design.
The changes also extend to the app icons, which have been refreshed to better match the new Home Screen aesthetic. While the functionality remains the focus, the visual update gives both apps a more consistent appearance alongside the rest of iOS 27.
On-Device AI Can Rename Your Workouts
Gentler Streak and The Outsiders are also using on-device AI for a smaller but useful feature: better workout names.
Recorded workouts can now receive more detailed title suggestions instead of relying on generic names such as “Outdoor Run.” The original title remains in place by default, but users can tap to edit it and see an AI-generated suggestion.
Users can accept the suggested name or write their own. Because the feature uses on-device AI, the workout naming process happens directly on the device rather than requiring the workout information to be sent elsewhere.
Both Apps Adapt To More Screens
The new versions also improve how the apps handle different screen sizes and window configurations. Their layouts can automatically adjust depending on the available space, making the interfaces more flexible across Apple’s devices.
The Outsiders now supports different iPhone window sizes, including the iPhone Duo, as well as iPad. Gentler Streak has supported larger tablet displays since 2023 and continues that approach with its updated adaptive layout.
This is particularly useful for users who move between devices or use apps in different window configurations. The interface can make better use of the available screen instead of relying on a fixed layout.
Gentler Streak 5.13 And The Outsiders 1.8
Gentler Streak 5.13 is available for iPhone running iOS 15 or later, Apple Watch with watchOS 9 or later, and iPad with iPadOS 17 or later. The Outsiders 1.8 requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later and Apple Watch with watchOS 26 or later.
Both updated apps are now available on the App Store, giving users access to the new Siri integration, Liquid Glass design updates, adaptive layouts and on-device AI workout title suggestions.
