Adobe is adding Acrobat tools to its Adobe for Claude plugin and bringing its creative tools to Google Gemini for the first time. Both rollouts start today, and the Claude plugin now covers more than 80 pro-grade tools across Acrobat, Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign and Adobe Stock in one place.
Adobe announced both moves in a company blog post. Adobe first brought its creative tools into Claude in April, and it has also built connectors for ChatGPT, Slack and Copilot.
Acrobat Tools and Interactive Editors Arrive in Claude
The Adobe for Claude plugin previously covered creative tools only. Acrobat now joins the same plugin, so a project can move from a PDF to a finished design without switching tools mid-conversation. Here’s everything you can do:
- Delete, combine, split, redact and convert PDF pages using Acrobat tools inside the chat
- Open a PDF in an interactive editor to reorder pages, edit text, or add comments and highlights
- Run a Document Review skill that has Claude add its own recommendations and notations directly in the editor
- Use a layer-based interactive editor for Adobe Express designs, adjusting images, copy, colors and fonts one at a time instead of regenerating the whole design
Adobe for Claude is rolling out globally today across Claude and Claude Code on desktop, mobile and web. Anyone can try it as a guest, and signing in with an Adobe account unlocks higher usage limits, more tools and continuity across sessions. An existing Adobe connector in Claude updates to the new plugin automatically.
Adobe in Gemini Brings Photoshop and Firefly to Google’s Chatbot
Adobe in Gemini gives users access to Photoshop, Lightroom, Express and Firefly tools directly inside a Gemini conversation, for tasks such as enhancing photos, building marketing assets and adapting one design for several social channels. Google says Gemini has more than a billion monthly users.
Adobe in Gemini is rolling out globally today across all Gemini plans. To use it, open Personal Intelligence, select Adobe under connected apps, and sign in with an Adobe account or create one for free.
Adobe had already unified its tools for other platforms, including the Adobe plugin for ChatGPT and Adobe for Slack, so Gemini is the newest addition rather than Adobe’s first chatbot integration.
Our Take
Bringing Acrobat into the same plugin as the creative tools is the more useful change for Claude users, since document work and design work often happen back to back. The Gemini launch mostly brings Google up to speed to Adobe’s integrations with ChatGPT and Claude.
