Siri AI Waitlist Ends in iOS 27 Except During High Demand

The Siri AI waitlist ends in iOS 27, and Siri AI now starts downloading as soon as you finish setup. Apple can still add you to a queue during times of high demand, and wait times can vary when that happens.

Tapping Try Siri AI (Beta) in Settings used to mean a waitlist signup, and some people reported waiting days for access. Now the download begins on its own once you turn on Siri AI and work through the setup prompts.

The Siri AI waitlist ends and setup starts in Settings

Open Settings, tap Siri and tap Try Siri AI (Beta), turning on Siri first if it is off. The setup prompts ask you to pick a voice, complete voice enrollment and review your privacy settings.

Once Siri AI is running, the Siri app keeps your conversations in sync through iCloud. A chat that starts on iPhone can continue on Mac, iPad, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro. Apple still labels the feature Siri AI (Beta) in Settings.

Siri AI still needs an Apple Intelligence device and a matching language

Siri AI runs on the iPhone 15 Pro and every later iPhone, including the iPhone Duo and iPhone Air. On iPad it needs an iPad mini (A17 Pro) or any iPad with M1 or later. Macs need an M1 chip or newer, or the MacBook Neo with its A18 Pro.

Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later and Apple Watch SE 3 work when they are paired with an iPhone that has Apple Intelligence and Siri AI turned on. Every Apple Vision Pro is supported.

Your device language and Siri language have to be the same. The Siri AI languages are English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, and Siri AI keeps working after you travel to another region.

Siri AI is unavailable in the EU on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, but it works on macOS 27 Golden Gate and visionOS 27 there when the device and Siri language match. It does not currently work with a mainland China Apple Account region, and it is not available for users under 13.

Daily usage limits still apply to Siri AI

Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models have daily usage limits. Intelligent Photo Editing Tools, Image Playground and the AFM 3 Cloud models in Shortcuts fall under the same limits.

The limits vary by feature, request complexity and system demand. Apple will charge a fee for expanded access in the future.
