Apple has crossed a major milestone in India, generating more than $10 billion in annual sales in the country for the first time as demand for the iPhone, Mac, and iPad continues to grow.
According to Bloomberg, Apple surpassed the $10 billion mark during the 12-month period ending in March 2026. The figure represents double-digit year-over-year growth and builds on the roughly $9 billion in annual revenue the company reported a year earlier.
The milestone comes as Apple continues expanding both its retail presence and manufacturing operations in India, making the country increasingly important to its long-term strategy.
iPhone Continues to Drive Growth
The iPhone remained Apple’s biggest revenue driver in India over the past year, according to people familiar with the matter, though demand also increased for Macs and iPads.
Apple has steadily expanded its presence in the country through new retail stores, financing offers, trade-in programs, and student discounts, all aimed at making its products more accessible despite relatively high prices.
Those efforts appear to be paying off as Apple continues gaining momentum in one of the world’s fastest-growing smartphone markets.
Reaching $10 billion in annual sales is particularly notable because India remains one of Apple’s more challenging markets.
A weaker rupee against the U.S. dollar and local taxes make Apple products significantly more expensive than in many other regions. For example, the entry-level iPhone 17 costs considerably more in India than it does in the United States.
To offset those higher prices, Apple has increasingly relied on bank financing offers, trade-in incentives, and promotional discounts to attract new customers.
India Is Becoming More Important to Apple
Over the past several years, Apple has significantly expanded iPhone manufacturing in the country as part of its broader effort to diversify production beyond China. India is now one of Apple’s key manufacturing hubs, with government incentives helping encourage additional investment.
Recent reports also suggest India will introduce further import tax exemptions for components used to manufacture products destined for export, a move that could strengthen Apple’s manufacturing operations even further.
With both sales and production continuing to grow, India is becoming an increasingly important market for Apple’s global business.
