Leaks point towards Apple event on March 23 for new iPads, AirTags, more

A few leakers have shared reports today that an Apple event will be held on March 23, where new iPad Pro, AirPods, and long-awaited AirTags will be announced. The leaks come courtesy of reputable leaker Kang, and have also been corroborated by Jon Prosser, who believes that a new Apple TV is also ready for launch.

Apple Event rumored for March 23 – AirTags, iPad Pro, New AirPods, Apple TV launch expected

Apple had a whirlwind end to 2020, as it had a new event or product announcement every month during the last four months of the year. All these events were recorded virtually but were a massive success due to the way they were recorded. Unlike virtual events from other companies, Apple’s events have been unique and piqued audience interest for more similar broadcasts.

The leak originated by Chinese leaker Kang, as posted by DuanRui on Twitter. Coincidentally, OnePlus is also launching its new OnePlus 9 on the same day, which is the kind of event date collision that companies try to avoid. DigiTimes had also reported that second-generation AirPods will launch in the first half of 2021.

Leaker Jon Prosser also chimed in a while later with similar details from his “reliable source”, saying that AirTags, iPad Pro, AirPods, and Apple TV are ready for launch. Prosser had previously shared last month that AirTags and iPad Pro are ready for launch in Mach, 2021.

Kang has a reliable track record when it comes to Apple leaks, and had accurately shared details of HomePod mini and iPhone 12 mini/iPhone 12 Pro Max, before their launch. Prosser had predicted that the new Apple TV will launch in 2021, with beefier internals for improved performance.

Apple usually shares event invites around a week before the actual date, so we should find out by next week if these rumors are correct.
