Apple’s 13-Inch M2 MacBook Pro will be available to order starting Friday, June 17

Apple’s new 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 will be available to order on Friday, June 17, at 5 a.m. PDT. The device will start arriving to customers worldwide on Friday, June 24. In-store availability will also begin on June 24.

Orders for Apple’s updated 13-Inch MacBook Pro to open soon

The tech giant previously said that the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro would be available to order in July. When orders for the laptop open, customers will be available to purchase it via apple.com, the Apple Store app, and through Apple Authorized Resellers

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro features the same old design, display, and speakers as its predecessor. Upgrades include the M2 chip, support for Spatial Audio, and a new 67W USB-C Power Adapter. In terms of price, the updated model starts from $1,199 for the M2 chip with 8-core GPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage. 

Apple said the M2 chip has an 18% faster CPU, a 35% faster GPU, and a 40% faster Neural Engine compared to the M1 chip. With the M2 chip, the 13-inch MacBook Pro can be configured with up to 24GB of unified memory, whereas the M1 chip maxes out at 16GB of memory. The notebook can also be equipped with up to 2TB of SSD storage.

Apple’s updated MacBook Pro is equipped with its new M2 chip. The chip features 18% CPU performance and 35% GPU performance compared to the M1 chip while providing the same battery efficiency. The new M2 chip features a 10-core GPU, while the M1 chip featured an 8-core GPU on the MacBook Pro.

The new M2 chip 13-inch MacBook Pro can also be configured with up to 24GB unified memory (LPDDR5), while its predecessor topped out at 16GB unified memory (LPDDR4X). This enables 100GB/s memory bandwidth on the new SoC. 

As for the redesigned M2 MacBook Air with MagSafe and a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, the tech giant says it will become available next month. However, orders could begin earlier similar to the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
