Apple is reportedly sending invitations to some members of the media for an all-day product launch experience in Los Angeles on October 28. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it is for the touchscreen MacBooks, the iPad mini and the M6 Macs.
Gurman shared the news in a post on X on Thursday. Apple has not announced the date or confirmed any of the products. Earlier reports described a two-day Los Angeles showcase on October 27 and October 28 built around content creators, so the media invitations are a new detail.
The invitations cover the touchscreen MacBooks, the iPad mini and the M6 Macs
Gurman’s earlier reporting fills in the lineup. It includes the first touchscreen MacBooks, an OLED iPad mini, and M6 versions of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac:
- The touchscreen MacBook Pro is expected to bring an OLED display and the Dynamic Island, and to be lighter than current models.
- The iPad mini is expected to get an OLED display, the A20 Pro chip and a landscape camera, as collected in our iPad mini 8 OLED guide.
- The M6 14-inch MacBook Pro and M6 iMac are expected to look like the current versions.
The touchscreen MacBook Pro would be Apple’s first touch-based Mac, and macOS Golden Gate 27.2 has been picking up touch gestures in its betas. The new iPad mini is expected to cost more than the current $599 model, with Gurman guessing a price near $799.
The launch is reportedly an experience format without a livestream
Gurman said in an earlier post that Apple is not planning a live-streamed video on either day in Los Angeles. Apple is building the showcase around experiences for content creators, the same format it used in New York on October 13 for the smart home launch.
His new post does not say whether Apple will announce the products on October 27 or hold everything for October 28. Our October launch schedule tracks the other dates still ahead this month.
Apple last held a showcase like this for new products in Los Angeles in 2024, and Gurman expects it to be Apple’s final major launch of 2026.
