Apple introduces new “Studio Display” with 27-inch 5K Retina screen and more

Apple has introduced a new external display called the “Studio Display”, along with a new Mac Studio at the “Peek Performance” event. The new Studio Display is powered by an A13 Bionic chip and features an immersive 27-inch 5K Retina display, 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage, and much more. Design and Display 

In an all-aluminum chassis, the new Studio Display has an all-screen design with thin bezels and a slim profile. It comes with a built-in stand with up to 30 degrees title. A ” tilt- and height-adjustable stand” and “VESA mount adapter option” are also available. 

More importantly, Studio Display features a large 27-inch 5K Retina screen with True Tone technology, anti-reflective coating, and also offers a nano-texture glass option for workspaces with bright light sources.

Camera and Audio systems

Powered by an A13 Bionic chip, the new display features a 12-megapixel Ultra-Wide camera that supports the Center Stage feature that automatically keeps users in the frame as they move around during video calls. 

It also includes equipped with an advanced audio system that supports spatial audio for music and videos and includes:

  • Three, studio-quality, microphones with low noise floor to deliver clear audio on calls and voice recording. 
  • Six high-fidelity speakers. “The best ever created for Mac, delivering an unbelievable listening experience.”
  • Four force canceling woofers to minimize distortion and more. 
  • Two high-performance tweeters.

Connectivity 

Studio Display features three USB-C ports that deliver up to 10Gb/s speeds to directly connect high-speed peripherals, networking, and storage into the display. And its Thunderbolt port allows users to connect it to a Mac with a single cable.

Price and Availability  

Studio Display is available to order on Apple.com and in the Apple Store app, today starting from $1,599 and $1,499 for education. It will be arriving to customers and in select Apple Store locations from March 18. 

For an ideal combination, Studio Display can be paired with the new Mac Studio for an enhanced desktop experience. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said:
