Apple Spring Event 2024: Unveiling new iPad Air, iPad Pro, and MacBook Air models

According to his sources within Apple’s Asian supply chain, the tech giant is gearing up for a late March launch event where they’ll unveil a slew of exciting new devices, including new iPad Air, iPad Pro, and MacBook Air models.

What to expect from the new iPads

iPad Air:

The popular iPad Air lineup is rumored to get a supersized 12.9-inch display option alongside the existing 10.9-inch model. Both variants are expected to pack a punch with the powerful M2 chip, offering significant performance improvements over the M1.

Design-wise, whispers suggest a minor update with a redesigned rear camera bump to accommodate improved optics, while retaining the overall familiar look. Additionally, the new iPad Airs might boast faster Wi-Fi 6E support and Bluetooth 5.3.

iPad Pro:

The professional-grade iPad Pro line is also tipped to receive the M2 chip treatment, potentially bringing even smoother multitasking and graphics performance. The most exciting rumor, however, revolves around the display.

Gurman suggests that Apple might finally equip mini-LED displays across the entire iPad Pro lineup, not just the larger 12.9-inch model. Mini-LED technology promises deeper blacks, improved contrast, and higher brightness compared to traditional LCD panels.

Other enhancements might include Thunderbolt 4 ports for faster data transfer and MagSafe charging for convenient wireless power.

The MacBook Air gets an M3 makeover

The biggest highlight of the rumored event could be the brand-new MacBook Air. This crowd-favorite laptop is said to be the first Apple notebook to receive the next-generation M3 chip, promising even more processing power and efficiency gains.

Design-wise, the new MacBook Air might ditch its current wedge-shaped form factor in favor of a sleeker chassis more akin to the current MacBook Pro models. This could translate to a thinner design, sharper edges, and the inclusion of a MagSafe charging port for a seamless charging experience.

Please note that Gurman’s predictions, while usually accurate, are based on rumors and leaks. Apple has yet to officially confirm any of this information.
