Apple wasted no time getting its next big Health app redesign into developers’ hands. The all-new Apple Health app that Apple unveiled during its September event is now live in today’s iOS 27.2 beta 1.
Apple said the redesigned Health app uses Apple Intelligence to respond dynamically to a person’s health data, and beta testers can now try the two headline additions themselves.
Insights and Longevity Are the Two New Tabs to Try
The new Insights tab surfaces timely health information based on a user’s data. The new Longevity tab analyzes a person’s longitudinal health history for deeper trends. Longevity also includes Health Age, an Apple Watch feature that shows how certain metrics compare to a user’s actual age.
Apple’s own description of the redesign explains the thinking behind it:
The Health app has been redesigned to dynamically respond to a user’s data using Apple Intelligence, with a new Insights tab that surfaces timely health information and a new Longevity tab that analyzes a user’s longitudinal health data for deeper insights.
Movement Evaluations Need an Apple Watch and a Compatible iPhone
The redesigned Health app also includes movement evaluations that measure flexibility, strength, and balance using vision-based AI models on iPhone combined with heart rate data from Apple Watch. Because the feature depends on Apple Intelligence, it requires an AI-compatible iPhone, and some features need a paired Apple Watch as well.
- Requires an AI-compatible iPhone, at minimum iPhone 15 Pro or newer
- Certain features also require a paired Apple Watch
- Insights tab surfaces near-term health information
- Longevity tab includes Health Age and longitudinal analysis
