Everything New in iOS 27.2 Beta 1 – Health App, Siri AI Languages, & More

Apple released iOS 27.2 beta 1 today, kicking off the next round of iPhone software testing. With a handful of standalone stories already covering the biggest changes, here is the complete list of what has been confirmed so far, along with the detail that matters for each one.

iOS 27.2 beta 1 is available now to registered developers by opening Settings, choosing General, then Software Update, and selecting iOS 27 Developer Beta under Beta Updates.

What’s New in iOS 27.2?

  • Redesigned Apple Health app: Redesigned with a new Insights tab and Longevity tab, including Health Age and movement evaluations. Requires an AI-compatible iPhone, and some features also need a paired Apple Watch.
  • Siri AI adds 5 new languages: Adds French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish alongside English. Standard Siri AI needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, while the full feature set is limited to the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air.
  • Apple TV App Profiles: Adds user profiles on iPhone, including account-free guest and kid profiles. Works on any iPhone running iOS 27.2.
  • FaceTime: Adds dual capture mode. Works on any iPhone running iOS 27.2.
  • Apple Podcasts: Up Next is renamed New Episodes, with Continue Playing moved directly below it.
  • Apple Music: Uses less of the app icon’s color for labels throughout the interface.

The Health app redesign and Apple TV profiles are the additions most likely to affect daily use, since both touch how families interact with their iPhone rather than sitting behind a developer setting. The Health app split is steep though. Anyone on an iPhone older than the 15 Pro will not see Apple Intelligence power any of the new Insights or Longevity features, even after installing the update.

Apple TV profiles are a strange addition. The content restrictions only apply inside the Apple TV app itself, so parents handing a kid profile to a child still need iOS’s separate parental controls for everything outside that one app.

Dual capture mode in FaceTime opens a new way to record video calls, though Apple has not detailed the exact resolution or storage format yet. The Apple Podcasts rename from Up Next to New Episodes and the Apple Music icon color change are cosmetic, but both touch apps with enormous daily usage, so the relabeling will be immediately visible to anyone who opens either app after updating.
