Apple no longer sells Apple Watch Series 6, following Series 7 launch

Apple has officially discontinued Apple Watch Series 6, which was launched in September of 2020, following the launch of Apple Watch Series 7. Series 7 now joins Series 3 and Apple Watch SE as the tech giant’s smartwatch offerings.

Apple Watch Series 6 has officially been discontinued

Apple released Apple Watch Series 6 in September of last year. The Watch comes in dynamic colors like red, blue and offers new band options and watch faces. Apple Watch Series 6 was built as a health tool featuring a health sensor to track and monitor blood oxygen levels and more. The Watch also helps track workouts and comes with  Family Setup features for safe communication.

Following pre-orders of Apple Watch Series 7 opening up earlier today, Apple has officially removed Series 6 from its website, no longer including it in its list of offerings. Now that Apple Watch Series 7 has replaced Series 6, it is joined by Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 3 in the lineup.

Apple announced Series 7 alongside iPhone 13 at its virtual September 14 “California Streaming” event with a larger and brighter display, five new aluminum colors, faster charging, user interface updates, IP6X certification, and more. Between Series 7’s unveiling and announcement of pre-orders, the tech giant continued to offer Series 6 on its website, but many models were unavailable or out of stock.

Even though pre-orders for Series 7 have just started, Apple has already released its new lineup of 41mm and 45mm sizes bands for the lineup. In addition to the updated vibrant color options across the Classic, Attelage, and Jumping styles, Apple Watch Nike and Apple Watch Hermès also introduced exclusive new bands this fall.

Apple released its mid-range Apple Watch SE alongside Series 7 with a price tag of $279. The SE model offers basic Apple Watch features but does have certain limitations like the absence of an always-on display, a faster processor, and advanced health features like an ECG sensor. Apple Watch Series 3, which was introduced 5 years ago, starts at $199.
