Apple leaker with a good track record, Jon Prosser claims that the new Apple Watch Series 7 will launch by mid-October and pre-orders will open by next week.
The next-generation Apple Watch Series was announced at the September 14 ‘California streaming’ event but Apple did not share much information about its specs, price, and availability. Currently, the smartwatch official status is “Available later this Fall”. Now, Prosser has shared the alleged launch date and price.
Starting with $399, Apple Watch Series 7 will also be available in titanium finish
As per the report, the new larger Apple Watch Series 7 models’ retail price will start from $399 like the Apple Watch Series 6. And will be available in aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium finish. Currently, Apple sells smartwatches in aluminum and stainless steel finishes. The new color range will be as the following:
- Aluminum: Starlight, Midnight, Green, Blue, and Product Red
- Stainless steel: Gold, Silver, and Graphite
- Titanium: Space Black and Natural
According to Prossers’ sources, Apple has told the press to expect “more information in the coming weeks” but has not given precise pre-order and launch dates. However, leaker claims that the next-generation series will be available for pre-order by October 4 with mid-October delivery dates.
The new Apple Watch Series 7 models have larger displays than predecessor models: 41mm and 45mm but will be compatible with Apple Watch Series 6 watch bands. They will be powered by watchOS 8 and will come with two new Contour and Modular Duo watch faces, an improved Always-On Retina display which is up to 70 percent brighter indoors, faster charging, and more.
Having said that, curious developers have found that the new Series 7 will have the same SoC (CPU and GPU) as Series 6. An alleged internal document revealed that it will have the same health sensors as the predecessor series: blood oxygen, electrical heart, optical heart, accelerometer and gyroscope (fall detection), always-on altimeter, compass, and ambient light, will weight.
