Apple Has Not Confirmed a Livestream for the Welcome Home Event, but a Video Is Expected

Apple’s Welcome home event is set for Tuesday, October 13, and Apple has not said whether it will stream a keynote. The invite is for an in-person “Apple experience” in Tribeca, New York, which is a different format from the stage events Apple usually livestreams.

Mark Gurman says an online video presentation is coming anyway. In his report on Apple’s October 27 launch of the touchscreen MacBook Pro and OLED iPad mini, he writes that the later launch will follow the same format as the home event, with an online video presentation and an in-person component for the press.

Apple’s Events Page Does Not List the Welcome Home Event Yet

The Apple Events page still leads with the September event that introduced the iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5. There is no Welcome home listing, and no sign of a livestream page on YouTube or in the Apple TV app.

That can change before October 13, so it is worth checking the page again on Monday.

Apple has been changing how it launches products this year. The MacBook Neo debuted in March with an in-person press experience, after several days of press releases for other products. The Welcome home event looks like another step away from the traditional keynote.

The Video Would Likely Go Live at 9:00 a.m. Eastern, Hours Before Apple’s Usual Keynote Time

Apple’s invite puts the Welcome Home press experience at 9:00 a.m. ET. If Apple posts a video, it would most likely go live around then. Apple’s keynotes have usually started at 10 a.m. Pacific, which is 1 p.m. Eastern.

In the US, 9:00 a.m. ET is 8:00 a.m. Central, 7:00 a.m. Mountain and 6:00 a.m. Pacific. Apple has used its Apple Events page, its YouTube channel and the Apple TV app for past events, so those are the places to check once a video is announced.

Three Home Products Are Expected Before a Busy Run of Launches

Apple has not named any products, but reports point to a smart home hub known as the HomePad, a new Apple TV 4K and a HomePod mini 2, all built around Siri AI. The full-size HomePod is reportedly skipping this launch. Our guide to the Apple smart home hub collects everything reported so far.

The event starts a busy stretch for Apple. Here is how the dates line up:

  • October 13: Welcome home event
  • October 16: iPhone Duo pre-orders open
  • October 23: iPhone Duo launches
  • October 27: touchscreen MacBook Pro and OLED iPad mini reportedly launch
