OpenAI has added iCloud Mail and Calendar plugins to ChatGPT, so you can search your inbox and edit calendar events without leaving a conversation. They are available on all ChatGPT plans on web, desktop, and iOS.
The ChatGPT account announced the plugins on X on October 27. Setup starts with a password you create yourself, since ChatGPT connects with an Apple app-specific password instead of an Apple Account sign-in.
iCloud Mail and Calendar Need Separate Connections With Different Addresses
Each plugin connects on its own from Settings > Plugins in ChatGPT. If you want ChatGPT to see your schedule but not your inbox, connect iCloud Calendar and leave iCloud Mail alone.
- iCloud Mail takes your iCloud Mail address, which ends in @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com
- iCloud Calendar takes your primary Apple Account email address, which can be a different address
That mismatch is easy to trip over when you are filling in the form. Both plugins also include read-only contact lookup, while standalone Contacts and Reminders plugins are not part of this launch.
Much requested, and now yours to connect: iCloud Mail and Calendar plugins are available in ChatGPT.
Ask ChatGPT to find that email, catch up on your inbox, check what’s next, or update a calendar event. Phew.

Resetting Your Apple Account Password Cuts ChatGPT Off From iCloud
An app-specific password is a separate password Apple generates for third-party apps, so ChatGPT never needs your main Apple Account password. You create one at account.apple.com under Sign-In and Security, and your Apple Account needs two-factor authentication turned on first.
Changing or resetting your main Apple Account password revokes every app-specific password automatically. ChatGPT then loses its iCloud connection until you reconnect with a new password.
Apple allows up to 25 active app-specific passwords, and you can revoke them one at a time or all at once. Revoking the one you made for ChatGPT cuts off its access without touching anything else on your account.
iCloud Arrives in ChatGPT 14 Months After Gmail and Google Calendar
ChatGPT added Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts on August 12, 2025. That rollout began with Pro users, and Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Education accounts were set to gain access in the following weeks.
The iCloud plugins skip that staging and are available on every ChatGPT plan from day one.
